Introduction
Ron hosts Winchester World Of Whitetail on the Versus / NBC Sports Network. Each episode chronicles a short, intense whitetail hunt in which Ron, sometimes alone, sometimes with a guide, reads the season, weather, habitat and signs to find the biggest, oldest buck he can and take it cleanly. In the process he provides viewers with insights into the what, where, when and how of whitetails, habitats, history, firearms, optics, ammunition and hunting. Most often he hikes, still-hunts, glasses and stalks. Rarely will he let an outfitter squeeze him into a blind or treestand. “We don’t need no stinkin’ tree stands!” he jokes. But Spomer means it. His style of hunting is aggressive, on the ground and wildly successful.

In his first season of WWOW Ron took 8 mature bucks on 9 hunts, averaging 2.5 days of hunting per buck. Using a pair of rifles chambered for .30-06 Springfield and a .243 Win. and topped with Bushnell Elite scopes, Spomer dropped bucks from 40 yards to 424 yards, all but one with a single shot each. Winchester Power Max Bonded and Supreme Ballistic Silvertip ammunition did the heavy lifting. These 2010-season hunts may air as re-runs at various times on the Versus Network. This July (2012) new episodes from the 2011 season will air for the first time on Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays. Join Ron as he adventures from the boreal forests of Saskatchewan to the deserts of Texas where he discovers heavy, old whitetails with the kinds of antlers that keep hunters awake nights. Check your local listings for times.

As a guest host on Winchester Whitetail Revolution, Ron offers insights and critiques of other hosts hunts and makes one or two of his own each season. This show also airs on Versus/NBC Sports. Check local listings.
