The RSO Team
Built upon the more than thirty years professional experience and rich, diverse knowledge of Ron Spomer, naturalist and hunter-conservationist, the RSO Team is comprised of professionals who help give form and exposure to Spomer’s deep passion. Appreciative and respectful of the early hunter-conservationists who restored the wildlife and wild places where he hunts, Spomer desires to continue that legacy, supporting or rekindling in others the rich heritage of the caring hunter-gatherer culture in order to protect, build and perpetuate the habitats and wild things that, ultimately, fuel and nurture us all.

Ron Spomer, President
Writer, photographer, naturalist, hunter-conservationist and TV host Ron Spomer is a typical American country boy who had just enough smarts to make his passion his vocation. He’s been at it for more than 36 years and shows no signs of slowing … much.

Zach Hall, Social Media Coordinator
Zach spent his teenage years in small-town Alaska where the wilderness was a stone’s throw from the back porch. In order to have more time outdoors, he took up the obscure sport of Nordic skiing because it was tough and provided the opportunity to run, bike, ski, and paddle on the trails and lakes of the Kenai Peninsula … but now he faces the greatest challenge of his life—working with Ron Spomer!

Kai Staats, Director of Business Development
In the fall of 2008, Staats narrowly escaped corporate America when he sold his software development company of ten years. In that former life, Staats’ leadership helped to shape the use of supercomputers in the Departments of Energy and Defense, NASA, and several top universities.
An avid backpacker, rock climber, writer and world traveler, Staats marries a deep passion for the natural world with his work in business consulting, creative writing, and film. As business developer and videographer for RSO, Staats returns to his work of the late ’90s, using ‘corporate story telling’ to build capacity through web and film. In a world of one hundred and forty character sound bites, computer generated realities, and electronic friends, Staats is helping RSO to share that essence of our outdoor experience which persists long after the digital trends have come and gone—the stories and knowledge gained and shared ’round the campfire when the day’s hunt is done.
